Good Morning!, It's raining outside today, all plans to wash my car and apply anti-rust agents have been put on hold. I bought some gasoline / petrol into my car yesterday, so that I don't have to rush to a filling station before going to work tomorrow.
I looked at the fuel gauge again and I can't believe that all I got was just a little over half tank. I spend a lot on fuel these days. Guys working in the petroleum sector are very rich you know! They are making a lot of money from this black gold. People like the Koch brothers, the Bushes, the Russian oil tycoons and of course many other oil tycoons the world over. There indeed is money in crude oil!
Wait a minute!, why are most of the countries with large deposits of this crude with the exception of Russia are very poor? They rank amongst the poorest nations in the world (with the exception of countries in the Arabia peninsula) in-fact they are mostly third world nations.
Why haven't the leaders of these resource rich but finance poor nations done anything to change the state of things? Why haven't they worked to make sure that the money(ies) accrued from the sale of their resources is (are) put to work to better their economy and the state of the people?
Well, who says they haven't tried? I have listened to a number of individuals talk about what is going on in the world, why these nations are not prospering e.t.c.
Some have said it is because, for these countries to be able to prosper they have to switch from the Petrodollar, a currency that is kind of anti development. It is a currency that is used to subdue most of the nations of the world.
What is Petrodollar? Well, a petrodollar is a United States Dollar earned by a country through the sale of its petroleum (crude oil) to another country. I found this definition on Wikipedia. Haven properly digested this definition, I began to wonder why any country will trade in currencies apart from its own or rather carry out international trade using the currency of another country.
I decided to do a further search on this issue, the results of which I would make known to you over time. I found that the country that benefits the most from this kind of arrangement, is the country whose currency is utilized.
Some leaders of some countries woke up to the reality of the fact that trading with a currency that isn't theirs and isn't backed by anything (the currency has no collateral value) doesn't favour the economy of their various nations.
In essence the currency with which they have been engaging in trade is more or less ordinary paper backed by nothing, it has no value, it has no worth, it is worthless. These men tried to make changes to the currency(ies) with which their nations engage in international trade and they made suggestions to their neighbour nations and union members to do same.
Some came up with the idea of shifting from the petrodollar to the Eurodollar. Some even came up with the idea of trading crude for gold!. What became of these men? They were branded as evil men and then murdered.
In the coming weeks, I would be revealing to you some truths, facts and of course myths that I have gleaned overtime from a number of sources like books and videos (especially from YouTube).
Well, till then stop worrying about your fuel level and start thinking of a way to create fuel independence.
